One thing students can always do is practice exam technique, and this website started out as a way to improve access to the thousands of hours of revision practice worksheets I have made over the years. It is an essential life skill to be able to perform well on an exam, and like everything it improves with practice.
I've never seen a hardworking student who will act on advice from their teacher perform badly in any subject I have ever taught.

I no longer teach Secondary 1 Science
So all work I do on it has to happen in the background. Apologies, but this year I should get a rough draft out for the whole syllabus. Hopefully...
What follows is material from previous years which may be of use on this syllabus, but might not be.

For students who are new to senior school, the most important thing that you can do is to get them talking about science outside of the lesson, and especially the things that they are interested in. Supporting and encouraging interest is the most important way to get better grades later on. The tests they have this year are much less useful indicators to progress than how often they want to talk about explanations for how things work, and how much detail they are able to include in their discussions.
Great science is communicating and finding out HOW things work, and WHY we think they work that way.
The syllabus they follow is the CIE, or Cambridge Secondary 1 Science Syllabus. See also the Student Section for more resources and help, by clicking here.
